The Indian Medialogue

Media Policy | Media Research | Media Studies

This initiative symbolizes recognition of the lack of a space to comment on and debate the developments in the Indian media in an interdisciplinary fashion. The field of communication studies expands as the corpus of pedagogical tools, policy documents and research papers on and around the conceptual concerns related to media grows not only in volume but also in diversity. This blog will be a witness, in the most rewarding sense of the word, to this story of growth and diversification of the field of communication studies in India.

The blog will also be an attempt

  1. To make the various academic outputs, including research projects and student works, of Centre for Culture, Media & Governance, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi available in a concise and easy-to-access form to the denizens, and
  2. To make significant interventions in the discussions on the concepts, practices and processes of media and initiate debates on these themes, with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity.

Towards this goal, Centre for Culture, Media & Governance, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi has created this blog that, it hopes, will  be a trendsetter in the field of media education, policy & research in India. It will target the social scientists in general; and media scholars, media professionals, media activists, policy makers, legal experts in particular.
